  I Hate a Theif..!!

  two weeks ago on a monday afternoon our house was broken into and we were robbed.

  the theives took all of tink's jewelry she owned and some of mine as well.

  she was wearing her wedding ring at the time but everything else is gone.

  Hey Min...My mother thinks she is of the annointed (She's been a "Russelite" since she was a teen and is now 76), and I found it to be a losing battle. I only get frustrated when we get on Bible topics, so I agree with her and change the subject. Have you tried doing that?

  Nina, LittleWitch, Lapuce, & SheilaM...Thanks for your replies!!

  SheilaM- Homeowners Ins. will only cover the entire value of jewelry if you insure it on a seperate policy. I did however find out that what the Insurance does not cover can be deducted off your income tax.

  As far as a Pit Bull...Shocker would be devistated..LOL...He still thinks he got the Bad guy's...LOL!

  as jws, we were taught that we had all the answers - that we knew the truth and no one else did.

  we were taught that no one knew as much as we did.

  we were taught that we were better than others.

  I have definately become more tolerant and considerate to others since leaving the Borg. The WTS taught us not to donate to worldly causes. Since leaving I have been donating blood on a regular basis and Tink has been volunteering at the Red Cross. It feels good to help others who are not JW's. I have to say however, I would bend the rules alot while I was a JW. I contirbuted to worthy causes all the time. I hated not being able to tell the other Dub's how I was trying to help people in other ways than cramming religion down their throats.

  Announcing that Elders are no longer Elders

  in the past year or so a local congregation has had several announcements that "so-and-so is no longer serving as an elder.".

  one of these elders has served in the watchtower organization since the 1940's.

  one thing apparent is the "organization's" lack of recognition and/or appreciation for its own.

  Misery loves company. If the WTS allowed those announcements to be made in the words of individuals then that would lead to free thinking. They want the rest of the Borg to know that anything less than ignoring your families needs by devoting all your time to the WTS is unacceptable. JMHO.
